Why have your articles been deleted?

eHow Terms of Use

It is important to read, understand, and follow eHow’s Terms of Use. Created for operational efficiency, the Terms of Use are an important fundamental part of the everyday usage of eHow and the creation of articles by eHow members. Members of the eHow for Beginners Group are encouraged to read the Terms of Use, understand them (or if not, ask questions until you do), and follow them at all times when navigating the site, creating content for the site, and spreading the word about the site.

I recently found myself experimenting with different ways to make money with Google Adsense. It wasn’t until I had already broke some of the rules in the Terms of Use on Google’s Adsense site that I read them and realized what I had done. Basically, you are allowed to post ads on your website. Google takes care of the rest. I was doing other things, and now I am potentially at risk of losing my Adsense benefits. The same can happen on eHow. It is easy to take a couple of minutes to read through the Terms of Use, so please do so as soon as you are able.

Choosing a Topic

I find it makes sense to limit your topics to just a couple general areas at most. For instance, you will find on my profile, I generally stick with internet / technology. Sometimes, if I am passionate about a certain topic, I am not afraid to throw other random articles out there, too. Generally, though, I like to stick to as small of a scope as possible, so that readers trust that I know what I am talking about in my area of expertise.

That said, another way of creating the most traffic possible, is to stick with topics that are timely. I try to stay up on the latest trends in my industry, so that I am writing about what people are talking about and interested in. Also, for example, with Thanksgiving coming up, I decided to write an article about how to deep fry a Turkey, as I do this every year and I know people will be looking online to figure out how to do this.

One of the surest ways to make friends, generate traffic, and complete the eHow experience is to visit the eHow Forums. Not only is there a wealth of information there, but there is continuous dialogue, and it is generally a very active area of eHow. It is also a good way to advertise your articles, without being bothersome. Too often am I thoroughly annoyed by spammers flooding my inbox with letters about their new articles (sure…I did it when I was a newbie, too). Remember, the more visibility your article has, the better it will do on the search engines, also.

Keeping active is very important on any site, but especially when you are trying to get noticed, or get your work noticed. The more visible you are, the more likely others are going to notice you and your work. Keep your work current. Visitors like to see that you are live on the site, or that you were just there recently. This gives a certain welcoming feeling. On eHow, it is just as important for your articles to be current. The more you are updating your work, the more often you are getting crawled by the search engines, also. This is good for all your articles, past and present. In order for your work to show up on search engines such as Google, Yahoo, or Bing, it has to be crawled. When it is crawled, the search engines are just looking through your articles for keywords. This way when someone searches, they can find your article. Hope this helps, and I will keep trying to post here as often as I can.

Let me start this blog by saying welcome. I am happy you decided to join, and I look forward to working together. I encourage you to share your experiences, and I will do the same. eHow has become a very large network, and if we can leverage just a fraction of the knowledge the members, beginning and experienced, we can all make a lot of money. I take this group very seriously, as I know there is a lot of opportunity here, and I will be happy to help and work with anyone else who plans to take it seriously.

I am a father of a 6 month old baby boy, so by spending as much time on here as I do, I have a lot to lose. I am a professional with a Bachelor of Science in Management and Organizational Management and a Master of Business Administration. I am only 28 years old, but I have a lot of experiences I look forward to sharing. I also look forward to learning from the experiences of everyone else.
